Parent Spark

In passage along the temporal arc
The flame outlived the parent spark
That briefly flashed amidst the dark
Upon the wood imprinted its mark.

Ingenious intuitive Fire
Fueled by our soul's desire
To ever heightening peaks aspire;
A life of its own acquire
Out lasting the spark, others inspire
To ascend ever higher and higher.

The Flame

What we call love is not only a name
Unquenching, ceaseless, towering flame.
That which is no substance, and all fame
By a candle's flicker is put to shame.
Self-deceiving try to tame
Only have ourselves to blame.
Consuming love ain't a game
Devours all, just the same.

The game moth with candle plays
Love daze, moth gaze, fire raze
While soul praise, wings ablaze.

The Candle

When life is too tough to handle
Focus on light, burn like a candle;
When you feel you're about to drown
Let your inner fire be your crown;
When you don't know where to turn
Just give your warmth, gladly burn;
When you don't know what you miss
That is the time to find your bliss.

Candle, fire won't fear
Though it may shed a tear,
Wax & wick are all the same
To that fire, that flame.
Candle is not killed by fire;
Consumed by its own desire,
To give birth to warmth and light
Candle's purpose and delight.

When you think your soul is sick
Find your wax, fire, and wick.

The Teacher

Sometimes I just go to the beach
To see what more ocean can teach
Stand above the waves and smile
Laugh for no reason for a while
The sea with its waves, foamy, white
Tells me to just live in delight
Every time transformed I return
Without preaching, so much I learn.
The ocean has so much to teach
Only if we extend our reach.
We too with our bubbly smile
Can keep on rolling for a while.

Shadows

So long as I am turned away from the light
All I see is my specter, my own shadow
I see my darkness beside the bright
Like a low-lying gloomy veiled widow.
Turned to light my shadow will take to flight
I face the source of my eternal glow;
The shadow may still be there, but out of sight
Stretched ahead of me a bright meadow.
When I turn my sight away from my source
Shadowy specters will outline my course
When I fix my gaze upon what is right
Unaffected by shadows I see the light.
